Approval Plan System

Efficient Media Selection and Acquisition for Libraries. The NEWBOOKS Approval Plan enables library suppliers and consortia to provide their customers with a system for targeted selection and efficient acquisition of all relevant media. Based on individually defined profiles and enriched metadata in comprehensive bibliographic databases, libraries receive tailored acquisition proposals at fixed intervals to support their collection development.

Implemented in library supplier’s corporate design, the Approval Plan system allows library suppliers to participate in all international tenders.

Extension modules such as OPAC matching with library‘s collection, the delivery of MARC records, and other add-ons complement the system. Special requirements – such as integration with library management systems (e.g. Alma, SISIS and Aleph) used by large institutions and consortia, barrier-free work processes, or services for collection building – are also supported.

With the NEWBOOKS Data Hub, all licensed databases can, if required, be directly integrated into existing approval plan systems.

All software systems are delivered as turnkey solutions and are hosted and maintained in our data centre.
